My Maid of Honor Duties have begun!

January 2, 2010

Today was a day of wedding dress shopping! My newly engaged/ only sister Hannah, my mom, and I set out on an unmarked path in beginning the hunt for The Perfect Dress. A very successful day it was, which is not hard to come by for someone who is the complete opposite of a Bridezilla such as my sister.

We left the house around 10am and travelled to a bridal shop we had heard about called "Kay's Bridal" only to discover that we were not the only people looking for a dress that day. But we could have possibly been the least experienced. At least it felt that way. Nevertheless, we were having fun in the whole experience of it all and were learning as we went. Turns out you needed an appointment for such a place so we set one for later in the afternoon and headed to David's Bridal in Brookfield, the only other bridal store we knew of. We set an appointment there too and went to grab to some lunch at Noodles & Co. in order to fuel our bodies for what we knew would now be a day filled with consultants and try-ons instead of a short hour-trip to Kay's which is what we expected. It turned out to be a better day than we could have even tried to plan had we been more experienced in the whole Wedding Planning Bubble. Hannah definitely found the dress she will walk down the aisle in on July 24th of this year, it's just a matter of picking which one! They all look amazing on her.

Later tonight I'll be going to my friend Sara's house to have a Bible Study with her and a bunch of girls from my graduating class. We all went our separate ways for college, so it's awesome when we can get back together and sit with coffee in hand and just catch up and talk about anything and everything. Our group, we call "SG" (standing for senior girls/ support group/ smushy grapes/ whatever you want it to stand for) was put together by a senior friend towards the end of all of our junior year in high school. We've been meeting up weekly ever since... except for when we're off at college, then we meet up when we can on breaks in a physically sense, but are still constantly connecting through facebook. Personally, it was a God-send because I've had to chance to connect with 8 other girls from all different cliques in our school and bond with them on a social and spiritual level that I probably otherwise would not have had the chance to do. Yay God! So I am definitely excited for that.

Alright well ma is making dinner (mostacholli... sp?) and I feel like going to help. And dad is ichatting with Andrew and I feel like going to talk to him. And there is a draft coming onto my feet and I feel like bundling up more than I already am.

Just one more thing... I forgot to caption names for my January 1st picture. From the left... Jamie, Megan, Me, Kristina, Michelle. MUah!
