The Mil makes me ILL

January 7, 2010

Fujiyama! If you are ever in the mood for some Japanese food, go there. It was, literally, amazing. The man that made our food in front of us was hilarious and the food was delicious. I got hibachi chicken with noodles vegetables... yum! My oldest brother Peter had been joking all week that Thursday night we are going to Japan! all week long. He's the most adventurous eater in the family, that's for sure, because our normal out-to-eat escapades consist of places like Applebee's, Fazoli's, or the Highland House. Definitely not as exciting as places like Fujiyama. I mean come one, this guy flipped shrimp into our mouths!

We trudged through the current blizzard to get to the restaurant. I felt like I was driving through the blizzard all day long. That's probably because the normal length of the trips I took today took twice as long. When I woke up, Hannah, her fiance Zach, Ryan, Kayla and I went up to Mequon to visit our new house. Afterwards Kayla and I walked around our old work stomping grounds visiting people while the other dedicated three ran on the treadmills. Then it was time for the Dream Team (Hannah, Kayla, and I) to take on Zach and Ryan in an intense game of basketball. Despite my hot hand, we lost 15-11. Our game gave me the most overwhelming feeling of "missing basketball" that I have gotten since my last game in February of 2009. Sad. But intermurals start at school this month! Happy.

As you may of figured from the title today, I'm sick again. I think that along with my break from school, my immune system has also taken a holiday. I have honestly been to the doctor three times this break. I take as many pills in the morning as my grandparents! That's an embellishment, but still. I'm sick of it! (Pun intended.) I woke up and I was literally choking on my mucus (sorry) and I had to run to the bathroom before I was suffocated by it. And my throat! Oh man, my throat. I didn't know it was capable of such pain. Hopefully the warmth of Texas will cure me better than any antibiotic has so far.

Tonight, after we got home from Fujiyama, I watched my beloved Longhorns play in the BCS National Championship football game. My baby Colt McCoy got injured in the first quarter, and they came out defeated. Throughout the whole game, all of the haters who were jealous that their own favorite teams were not playing in the national championship were trying to bash Texas. Don't worry boys, I stood up for you. One thing that actually really bothered me though, was the constant insults towards Colt and how happy people are to see him get injured and, in a sense, fail because he wasn't on the field to lead his team to victory. I understand athletic rivalries, but when you go onto saying that he's a bad person that is where I draw the line! I had the opportunity to go to Colt's personal testimony this year. He is an awesome guy, and such a devoted servant to God. His post game interviews proved just as well as he said that, despite his injury, this game was all a part of God's plan, God is his rock, God has a plan for him, and though he doesn't understand right now, there was a reason for why he got injured and it was all according to His purpose. I thought that was really cool, especially because it was an insta-witness to the millions of people that were watching.

Just one more thing... I love the song "Sunday Morning" by Maroon 5
